Watermelon Popsicles For Dogs
Ingredients
- Watermelon: The star of the show!Ripe, juicy, and seedless (or seeded with seeds removed!).
- Plain Yogurt (optional): Adds a creamy texture and a boost of probiotics for happy tummies. Make sure it's plain and unsweetened, no funky additives!
- Honey (optional): Just a touch for added sweetness (if your watermelon isn't sweet enough), but use sparingly. Think: just a drizzle.
- Water or Coconut Water (optional): To thin the mixture if needed.
Instructions
- 1. Prep the Watermelon: Cut the watermelon into chunks, removing all seeds. Seriously, get rid of those seeds. You don't want any tummy troubles.
- 2. Blend it Up: Toss the watermelon chunks into a blender or food processor.Blend until smooth.
- 3. Optional Add-Ins: If using, add plain yogurt and a tiny drizzle of honey to the blender. Blend again until well combined.
- 4. Thin It Out (If Needed): If the mixture is too thick, add a splash of water or coconut water until it reaches a pourable consistency.
- 5. Pour into Molds: Pour the mixture into popsicle molds or ice cube trays. You can also use small paper cups if you're feeling resourceful.
- 6. Insert Sticks (Optional): If using popsicle molds, insert popsicle sticks. If using ice cube trays, you can skip this step.
- 7. Freeze: Freeze for at least 4-6 hours, or until solid. Patience, young Padawan.
- 8. Unmold and Serve: To unmold, run the molds under warm water for a few seconds. Serve to your drooling dog and watch the magic happen!
