Diced Chicken Thigh & Broccoli Bite: A Nutritious, Easy-to-Make Treat for Cats and Dogs

Ingredients

  • 1 medium chicken thigh (boneless, skinless)
  • 1 /4 cup broccoli florets (lightly steamed or boiled)
  • 1-2 tablespoons water or low-sodium chicken broth

Instructions

  1. Cook the chicken thighStart by boiling the chicken thigh in a pot of water. Cook for about 12-15 minutes, or until it’s fully cooked through (no pink!). Once done, remove it from the pot and let it cool slightly.
  2. Prepare the broccoliWhile the chicken is cooking, steam or boil the broccoli florets for 3-5 minutes until they’re tender but not mushy. Drain any excess water and let them cool.
  3. Dice the chickenOnce the chicken is cool enough to handle, dice it into small, bite-sized pieces. For cats, aim for tiny pieces; for dogs, you can go slightly larger.
  4. Chop the broccoliChop the steamed broccoli into small pieces. Cats especially appreciate smaller chunks that are easier to eat.
  5. Mix it all togetherIn a bowl, combine the diced chicken and chopped broccoli. Add water or chicken broth for a moist, easy-to-eat texture. Mix it well so the flavors come together.
  6. Cool and serveLet the mixture cool to room temperature before serving. Your pet will thank you for taking the time to get it just right.
