Chicken Liver & Rice Supreme: A Protein-Packed Treat for Cats and Dogs
Ingredients
- 3-4 chicken livers (fresh, not seasoned)
- 1 /4 cup cooked white rice
- 1-2 tablespoons water or unsalted chicken broth
Instructions
- Prepare the chicken liversRinse the chicken livers under cold water to remove any debris. Place them in a small pot of boiling water and cook for 5-7 minutes, until they’re fully cooked and firm.
- Cook the riceWhile the livers are cooking, prepare plain white rice. Use just water—no salt, butter, or seasonings.
- Chop the liversOnce the livers are cooked, let them cool slightly, then chop them into small, bite-sized pieces.
- Mix it all togetherCombine the chopped chicken liver with the cooked rice in a bowl. Add a splash of water or unsalted chicken broth to make the dish moist and palatable.
- Cool and serveLet the meal cool to room temperature before serving. No one likes a hot meal straight out of the pot, not even your pets!
